A.O.U.W. Hall

524 Main St. Seneca, KS

This mural was one that I had never noticed before until I was deliberately looking for any signs of old murals for this project. Standing for Ancient Order of United Workemen, this was a fraternal organization that was formed after the American Civil War and provided mutual social and financial support through sickness, accident, and death insurance policies. According to “The History of Nemaha County” but Ralph Tennal, this building was later used as a meeting place for a Masonic group. This building is vacant today, but the Anna Rosa Cigar Mural was on the other side of it.
